Orchid Male Cancer Awareness Week 2018

April 17

Orchid regularly travel around the country providing male cancer awareness sessions to schools, companies the community and workplaces.

We would be pleased to try and provide speakers for awareness days, information or training sessions subject to availability.  We can talk on an individual cancer or all three using power point presentation Q&A sessions and interactive learning.

Our portable information stands, posters, information materials and DVD have also proven popular and can be used in your foyer, rest area, canteen during lunch hours, school assemblies, health promotion events etc.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements by e-mailing nurse@orchid-cancer.org.uk

We also have a host of downloadable resources to help spread the awareness message.

A lifesaving resource from the Orchid Cancer Appeal, the UK’s leading male cancer charity.

The Your Privates Schools Pack is a downloadable resource accredited by the PSHE Association designed to raise awareness of testicular cancer with secondary school pupils.

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged between 15-45 years with over 2200 men being diagnosed each year. If found at an early stage a cure rate of 98% is usually possible and even when testicular cancer has spread to other areas of the body a cure can still be achieved.

The Your Privates Schools Pack and microsite was designed to be used by any school professional, not just teachers. We have already received excellent feedback from school nurses, teaching assistants and volunteers conducting assembly talks who have found the pack useful and informative.
